Note: Bhattacharyya was the brother-in-law of Ashutosh Mukherjee, to whose wife (his sister) he dedicates the work. Bhattacharyya regularly commuted from his home in Krishnanagar to Calcutta University, where he lectured and set exams. I have not yet found life dates for this author but his sister is Jogamaya Devi Bhattacharyya (1871–16 July 1958).Not to be confused with the Kriya yoga guru Panchanan Bhattacharya (Kolkata, Bengal, 1853-1919), or with the twentieth-century mathematics lecturer at Calcutta University, [Updated July 2023 IB]
