Note: Plutarch: Megisto was the wife of Timocleon, who with many other Elian women and men (men included Cylon and Hellanicus) conspired to overthrow the despot Aristotimus (r. a few months in 272 BCE). Because Megisto was among the women whose children Aristotimus had murdered, she led the women who oversaw the honorable execution of Aristotimus's wife and daughters.
